Our Hiring Process

At Investoo we operate a fully flexible working policy and conduct all of our interviews virtually. The process can vary for each role but generally follows the steps laid out below. 

Initial phone screen

Hop on the phone with our HR team or one of our hiring managers to run through your experience, the role, and what it’s like to work at Investoo.

At-home task to complete

Depending on the role, we may ask you to complete a task at home to present at the next stage. Examples of these include an editing task for one of our content roles or a technical task for one of our marketing roles.

Video interview

Meet with the hiring manager and wider team on a video call to present your task (if required) and talk through your skills and experience in more detail. Now is also a great time to ask any burning questions you may have.

Follow up call

For some of our roles there will be a final phone call with a member of our HR or senior management team to ask a few more questions.

Our decision

Our HR team will reach out to you to let you know our decision. We understand the importance of giving feedback as quickly as possible so aim to let candidates know the outcome within a week of the interview.

What do we look for?
There are several factors we consider when reviewing applications. Your skills and experience are only one part. We’re equally interested in finding out your approach to work, your career aspirations and whether you have the passion and drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Will I have to do a technical assessment?
We may ask you to take part in a “take home” challenge, we’ll let you know if this is part of the recruitment process well before the interview. Depending on the role this could be a coding assessment for an Engineering role, a presentation for a Commercial role or maybe an editing task for a Marketing role. The purpose is to gauge how you solve problems, benchmark the depth of your skillset and see how you communicate your thinking.
How should I prepare for my interview?
You should compare your skills and experience with the job description, prepare responses by pulling on some clear examples from your past experience. You should do as much research as possible on the company and the industry we operate in. Prepare a list of questions based on your research or share your perspective on current press and trends, this will really help you stand out from other candidates. Not only will this help your confidence, but you should get a better idea if the company is a good fit for you.
What should I expect during the interview process?
During the selection process, we’ll talk you through the role, the Company and ask you a series of questions about your successes, challenges and career ambitions. This is important so that we can evaluate if you can fit into the Company.
You should be prepared to talk about yourself, your career and your point of view on current market trends and industry developments. We want to get to know you as an individual and discover your strengths and attributes. It is important to be yourself.
How long does the recruitment process take?
The length of our recruitment process can vary, it can depend on things like seniority of the role or whether or not an assessment is involved. We will try to outline what you should expect for your particular role and keep you updated throughout the process should things change.
Where are your roles based?
We operate a fully flexible working policy so all employees can work wherever suits them best - at home, in our lovely London offices, or a mix of both.
